VTI KOREA Successfully Hosts “IT Outsourcing How-To: Overcoming Challenges and Maximizing Efficiency” Seminar

On September 6th, VTI KOREA successfully hosted the “IT Outsourcing How-To: Overcoming Challenges and Maximizing Efficiency” seminar at Four Points by Sheraton, Seoul. The event attracted nearly 40 representatives from various Korean enterprises, eager to explore IT outsourcing solutions.

The seminar provided a deep insight into the key challenges facing the ICT market in South Korea. Furthermore, the speakers from Samyang Data Systems, Youngshine D&C, and VTI KOREA with seasoned experiences in IT outsourcing, presented compelling case studies showcasing the strategic methods VTI KOREA has successfully implemented to tackle the challenges of communication breakdowns, maintaining commitment, and ensuring quality.Ms Oh Hee Young (Van Anh), Account Manager of VTI KOREA, started the seminar by discussing the burgeoning Korean ICT industry’s challenges, including talent shortage, high labor costs, and an aging workforce. Following up, IT outsourcing, particularly the Global Development Center (GDC) model, was introduced as the optimal solution for those challenges.

The second topic, “Implementing IT Outsourcing for Cloud MSP Infrastructure,” was presented by Mr. Ahn Gi Sang, Senior Manager of the Cloud Business Team at Samyang Data Systems. He highlighted the increasing costs associated with mid-level developers and the difficulty in finding talents. To boost efficiency, his company partnered with VTI KOREA, appreciating their developers’ language skills, technical expertise, and project management system. Mr. Ahn also shared that by transitioning to an offshore model with VTI KOREA, they successfully reduced labor costs.

Following up, Mr. Choi Pyung Ho, Executive Vice President of the Research & Development Center at Youngshine D&C, discussed “Leveraging IT Outsourcing in AI Service Delivery.” He shared how the company turned to VTI KOREA when expanding its domestic development team was no longer feasible. He praised VTI KOREA developers for their strong communication skills and swift reporting cycles, which contributed to the successful collaboration on an AI project.

The seminar concluded with Mr. Ji Tae Hwan, Project Manager at VTI KOREA, presenting the company’s outsourcing – GDC model. He explained how VTI KOREA mitigates communication challenges using a Bridge Software Engineer (BrSE) to streamline interactions between clients and offshore teams, while employing a scheduling system tailored to Korea’s development cycle. Mr. Ji Tae Hwan also addressed common concerns about project deadlines in outsourcing, reassuring attendees that the company closely manages timelines with both on-site and offshore teams, identifying risks and implementing countermeasures.

At the end of the seminar, attendees actively engaged with the speakers by posing numerous questions about IT outsourcing. VTI KOREA responded with practical solutions, addressing concerns and providing actionable advice that helped clarify the outsourcing process for prospective clients.
