On August 14, 2025, at VTI’s headquarters, the kickoff ceremony for the project “Smart Warehouse: Optimizing Sumi-Hanel’s Warehouse Operations with Robotics” took place, with the attendance of senior leaders from VTI, Sumi-Hanel, and other representatives.
Sumi-Hanel, a joint venture between Hanel (Vietnam) and Sumitomo Electric Industries (Japan) established in 1996, is one of Vietnam’s leading manufacturers of electrical and electronic wiring systems. With five large-scale factories and nearly 10,000 employees, the company is a trusted supplier for the automotive and motorcycle industries, exporting over 80% of its production to demanding markets such as Japan, the U.S., and the EU.
This smart warehouse project is part of Sumi-Hanel’s broader expansion and modernization plan. The adoption of robotics in warehouse management is not only a breakthrough solution for operational optimization but also a testament to the company’s long-term vision and competitive edge in the global market.
To realize this goal, Sumi-Hanel has chosen VTI as its technology partner, leveraging VTI’s strengths in Robotics and Pick-to-Light solutions. The VTI team will design and implement the Smart Warehouse system to fully automate warehouse operations, maximize storage capacity, enhance inventory accuracy, and reduce processing time.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Masahiro Hashimura,General Director of Sumi-Hanel, expressed strong confidence in VTI’s expertise and experience, emphasizing that this is a strategic project with high expectations. He highlighted that this will be Sumi-Hanel’s first large-scale smart warehouse, marking a significant milestone in the company’s digitalization and modernization journey.
Responding to this trust, Mr. Pham Thanh Ha, Chief Technology Officer of VTI, reaffirmed the company’s strong commitment to delivering the project with the highest quality and within the agreed timeline, contributing to the modernization of Sumi-Hanel’s logistics system and strengthening its competitiveness.
The Smart Warehouse project not only represents a critical step in Sumi-Hanel’s digital transformation but also opens opportunities for long-term cooperation between the two companies in applying advanced technology solutions.
