On June 25, 2025, in Tokyo, VTI Japan was honored to participate as a guest speaker at a specialized seminar on “Offshore Development in the AI Era”, attended by more than 90 representatives from major Japanese enterprises interested in optimizing software development resources and accelerating digital transformation (DX).

At the beginning of the seminar, VTI Japan emphasized that the key to successful offshore development lies not only in technical capability or cost advantages but also in cultural understanding and effective communication between all parties involved.
Drawing on years of project experience with Japanese clients, VTI shared real-world examples of how development teams in Vietnam have overcome barriers of language, culture, and time zones to build strong and lasting trust with Japanese partners.
The presentation also provided specific insights into the importance of maintaining multi-directional, continuous, and transparent communication frameworks throughout the project lifecycle.
The “Offshore Development 4S Roadmap” – A Step-by-Step Approach for Japanese Enterprises
Next, VTI Japan introduced its “Offshore Development 4S Roadmap (Setup, Scratch, Stabilize, Scaling)”, a proven framework developed from managing hundreds of offshore projects across various industries:
- Setup: Establishing the optimal development framework and processes from the outset
- Scratch: Validating quality and communication flow through small-scale PoC/Pilot projects
- Stabilize: Ensuring delivery quality and refining management processes
- Scaling: Expanding team size after achieving operational stability
This 4S Roadmap was presented as an effective and reliable approach not only for companies new to offshore development but also for those with past offshore project challenges.
Offshore Development in the AI Era – Leveraging AI for DX Acceleration
In the latter part of the seminar, VTI Japan showcased numerous real-world examples of offshore development projects that integrated AI technologies, highlighting how the fusion of offshore development and AI solutions contributes directly to DX acceleration for Japanese enterprises.

Following the seminar, a Vietnam cultural exchange session was held, where guests enjoyed Vietnamese specialties such as Goi Cuon (spring rolls), and Banh Mi, along with a fun “Vietnam Quiz” session that further deepened connections among participants.
This event provided attendees with a deeper understanding of Vietnamese culture, laying a solid foundation for trust and collaboration in future offshore projects.

After the seminar, VTI Japan received numerous positive feedbacks from participating companies. Notably, one attendee who had experience as a PM and BrSE for an offshore project in 2017 shared the following comment: “Compared to back then, I feel that the situation has significantly improved in a very positive way. The accuracy of translation tools has greatly enhanced, and the communication capability on the offshore side has also improved remarkably. This seminar clearly demonstrated how offshore project operations have evolved.”
