A leading Japanese financial company, renowned for its 50-year legacy in premium credit card and financial services, entrusted VTI to design a cutting-edge transaction monitoring system. Leveraging the .NET framework and ProC, we delivered end-to-end solutions that ensure the security and reliability of millions of customer transactions across Japan.
Client’s Requirements
Credit account takeovers and unauthorized withdrawals are becoming more prevalent and severe than ever. To address fraud and protect customers, our client needed to develop a real-time transaction monitoring solution to detect and manage suspicious transactions on their current system. It can also alert users about potentially fraudulent transactions for instant verification.
Challenges During Implementation
The nature of credit services posed several challenges for VTI delivery team:
- Data Complexity: The system required processing thousands of data fields for transaction monitoring, demanding comprehensive testing protocols.
- Third-party integration: The system required integration with multiple third parties to obtain real-time data, demanding significant time for synchronization and optimization of information exchange.
- Testing Environment Limitations: Security concerns restricted access to actual data requiring VTI to develop simulated environments, which creates potential gaps between testing and live operational outcomes.
VTI’s Solution
We defined this project as a maintenance case and addressed it as follows:
- Organized project team into Frontend, Backend, Testing, and BA units.
- Built system using .NET framework and ProC.
- Scope of work: Basic Design (BD), Detailed Design (DD), Coding, Unit Testing (UT), Integration Testing (IT).
- Developed automated data generation tools to streamline unit testing for large data tables.
- Created a high-fidelity simulation environment for comprehensive integration testing, with detailed test plans for complex scenarios.
Project Scale
- Duration: 2022 – Present
- Model: Hybrid (Onsite and Offshore)
- Type: ODC (Offshore Development Center)
- Headcount: 30 personnel
